how about being able to filter records alphabetically or numerically-- can be useful in finding duplicates especially when there are misspelled names.

Hi Aris,
You can filter records on any data in any field in ImageMatch. For instance if you want to bring up all of grade 6: 1. Go to Data > Filter 2. In the Grade field enter "6", click Done For Duplicates searches, you can also use any field, or combination of fields. To find duplicates by Student ID: 1. Go to Data > Duplicates > Duplicates Selection 2. Check Student ID 3. When the duplicate records come up, press F2 and click the duplicate image. Marking an image as a duplicate removes it from printing of services and packages and most exports. 4. Press F3 to bring up the next set of duplicates. To skip, press F3 again. Unmarked duplicates are redisplayed to verify that you meant to skip the set. Thanks, PhotoLynx Support |

Would it be possible to have the export function in ImageMatch operate through a separate module. When we export for a cd, for example, ImageMatch is tied up until it is complete. This is a bit frustrating especially when exporting large schools. Exporting in a separate module would allow us to continue working on other files.

E Capp:
Funny you should mention that. That functionality is coming around (if not before) the first of the year. We will allow exports to be "cued" so they can be done all at one time from several different jobs. We are also working with Rimage to automate the process of burning the exports directly to CD.

I've been working with Photolynx as a whole now for about a year. I can imagine there are many requests for things to be added. However, my intent with this post is to improve the users ability to build a customized work flow.
Below is a compiled list of changes, that in my opinion would improve this software for the above stated goal. - First off, More User Customization, The ability to assign shortcuts to program functions that individual users feel they need quicker access to, Better use of the screen real-estate with in image match i.e. Smaller buttons, to allow for the bottom half of the screen to be used for something else. (Maybe an iframe type set-up for the data modification instead of having to pull that screen up, have it always open on the bottom, allow it to change from the data entry (f5) to the modify fields screen when entry isn't in use) - Allowing the Users to customize the GUI to their standards for a working environment will allow them to feel more at ease with the elements they need access to most, and give them the ability to explore elements that they DON'T regularly need at their own pace.- Second, There tends to be a few bugs going into Pro-Composites from Imagematch, there is an error message that appears for what seems to me like no reason. - The software over all responds VERY efficiently to my commands and is able to keep up nicely with my needs, but again short-cuts would allow me to work without removing my hands from the keyboard, and allow me to shave that much more time off switching from data entry to pro-composites, etc... - Third, I would really like to see more integration of the outside services into the main app, "Imagematch". - It would be very handy to be able to see how the dynamic data is going to flow into a composite (preview pane) from Imagematch without having to switch to the plug-in apps. - Finally, Make the Image Directory List a bigger part of the program, It would be nice to be able to simply go down to that to change image directories. delete a directory if it's the wrong one, have it tell the users where that directory falls in the matching list (it does this some already but it would be handy to be-able to click on it and have it filter to just those images). please don't take this post to critically, I generally like the software, and would choose this over many of the others available to me. The changes listed are what i feel could be a MAJOR help to your users. Thanks for listening, Josh |
